The High Gabriel Water Supply Corporation (HGWSC) is a nonprofit, member-owned water supply corporation serving 165 customers in the High Gabriel Subdivision, located approximately three miles north of Leander, Texas, on both the east and west sides of U.S. Highway 183A Toll Road. The corporation is governed by an elected Board of Directors in accordance with its adopted By-Laws, which are available via the link on this website.
HGWSC’s water supply is sourced from the Trinity Aquifer through three drilled groundwater wells, well #3 is our main well today, located at the system’s pumping and storage facility. Well #1 is our backup well, and well #2 has been unused for many years and has no pump at this time. Submersible pumps installed within the well convey raw groundwater to three above-ground storage tanks. As water enters the storage tanks, it is disinfected through chlorination in compliance with regulatory requirements.
From the storage tanks, booster pumps distribute treated water into an underground pipeline network that serves customers throughout the High Gabriel Subdivision. Each connection is equipped with a cumulative water meter that records usage. Water meters are read monthly by modern electronic meters and customer billing is calculated based on metered consumption and mailed or emailed to each account holder by Texas Water Services. Operating expenses for the High Gabriel water system include the maintenance and repair of submersible and surface pumps, electric motors, electrical control equipment, underground piping and fittings, water meters, and related infrastructure. Additional expenses include system maintenance, electrical power, postage, and data processing associated with customer billing and payment processing. In addition, you may monitor your daily water usage on the app EYE ON WATER, which will even detect a leak in your system.
HGWSC contracts with Texas Water Services, LLC, P.O. Box 2799, Cedar Park, Texas 78630.
